Recent Experiences

Alson's

  May 2006 to May 2008 | Engineering & Marketing Intern  

I spent two years working with engineers to test and create the best shower products possible. We set industry standards in shower products for every home and gym, and connected with international vendors to bring the most cost efficient and durable products. I performed thorough testing on new and innovative water efficient products, and tested various possibilities to market prototypes through viral marketing possibilities such as Facebook, Blogger, and Digg.

My experience there taught me complete mastery of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and OneNote. I also became fluent in the design, engineer, and production processes of building and creating a finished product. Later, I also worked as a Marketing Intern to develop new strategies for building product enthusiasm and popularity.

Hillsdale Medical Clinic

  September 2003 to May 2005 | Office and Medical Assistant  

There's probably no place where excellent customer service is more important than taking care of sick people. I began as an office assistant, where I did routine tasks such as answering phones, filling prescriptions, filing, and checking patients in. But soon my job description changed. I worked as a medical assistant for two years in this clinic, where I assisted doctors on providing vitals from the patients, doing ear cleanings, taking doctor's notes, and preparing for procedures. I also frequently traveled with the head medical provider between three clinics, depending on where he had appointments.

This was a great experience in that I learned how to assist all different types of people of all ages, and find the quickest way to fulfill their needs to provide the highest possible level of comfort. During the time I worked here, I learned to help multiple patients at the same time, and juggle time efficiently to maximize my services. I also acquired expertise in medical terminology, as well as medical programs to assist in note taking and diagnoses.

My time here not only taught me fluency in office tasks, but also sharpened my knowledge of customer service. This experience also helped me realize my interest in finding the needs and interests of customers, and fulfilling those expectations to provide the complete satisfaction.
